BHEH: Blenheim Home

Woodbourne Aerodrome (IATA: BHE, ICAO: NZWB) is a small, controlled aerodrome located 3NM west of Blenheim in the South Island of New Zealand, on State Highway Six, Middle Renwick Road.
History
Woodbourne was one of the first airports in New Zealand, Today it is one of the few remaining air force bases; with general maintenance and initial training conducted there. Woodbourne also serves as the civil airport for Blenheim. Runway 06R/24L was sealed for the Friendships in 1961, and was one of the first regional in the country to take turboprop aircraft.

Today it has more frequent operations with Air New Zealand's Raytheon 1900D aircraft; but the busiest route from Blenheim remains across the Cook Strait to Wellington, 80km to the north-east. Flights take only twenty five minutes, and Air New Zealand operates 13 each weekday. Sometimes a Air National Jetstream 32 or De Havilland Canada Dash 8 is chartered by the airline to augment operations. Air New Zealand also opearates flights to Christchurch and Auckland.
